ELECTRONIC KEYBOARD
THE KEYBOARD
The standard Electronic Keyboard has 61 keys, 36 white keys and 25 black keys, the black keys are the sharps (semi-tones). Music notes basically follow the alphabet from A to G, every note has a sharp except E and B. This makes the 12 notes of the chromatic scale. These 12 notes are repeated along the keyboard left to right, each repeated group is an octave higher (same notes at a different pitch). See chart below for notes and octaves. |

FUNCTIONS
Electronic Keyboards generally have a variety of functions including: Rhythm/drum beats, chord accompaniment, split keyboard, a library of demo songs and lesson modes. Also the keyboards have many sound / instrument options, such as; cello, wind intruments, church organ, synthesizers, drums etc. Electronic keyboards have an LCD screen (like the one below) to show which options are selected. See your owners manual for your keyboards functions and features. |

CHORDS
Below are some common chords for the keyboard, they can be played in any octave. |
