CLARINET

PARTS

ASSEMBLY

1. Place the reed onto the mouthpiece flat side down. Line up the thin, curved end of the     reed with the curved end of the mouthpiece. For best performance soak the thin end     of the reed in your mouth while assembling the Clarinet. This helps for better and     easier tone control.

2. Secure the reed with the ligature screws, do not overtighten the screws. Always     remove the reed when not in use to preserve its condition.

3. Spread a thin layer of cork grease around all corked joints as you put them together.     This is not necessary everytime, just when it gets harder to join the pieces together. If     the joints get too tight or too loose, take the Clarinet to a repairer.

4. Slide the mouthpiece onto the barrel section. Some Clarinets come with two barrels     for tuning preference.

5. Pick up the main body pieces by the ends not the keys. Slide the barrel onto the     upper joint. Avoid putting pressure on the keys while pushing pieces together, this     may damage the keys. If you need more grip while assembling, hold the body pieces     with your lower palm over the keys pressing them downwards so there is no     sideways pressure.

6. Align the upper joint and lower joint at the bridge key and slide them together.

7. Finally, push the bell onto the lower joint. The Clarinet is now ready to play.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

1. Clean the outside of the Clarinet with a dry clean cloth, be careful not to put pressure     on the keys.

2. Wipe out the inside of each piece with the provided cloth or a clean dry cotton cloth     after each use. The Clarinet must be dried before putting it away in its case to     preserve the pads.

3. Always store the Clarinet in its case

4. Don't put any extra objects or sheet music in the case, doing so may cause the keys     to bend.

5. Keep the Clarinet out of direct sunlight and hot areas (like cars) this can warp the     instrument causing damage.
